I guess they think they'll have it easier by auditioning for a show because they'll gain more popularity that way. It takes a while for people to become famous without getting the extra step towards stardom, like these TV shows.

Although, some people think it's easy to get to be on these shows, when in reality, they have to go through series of little auditions before getting to the official, real deal auditions.
Some of them are bullshit though, like American Idol's. You can be the worst singer ever and get qualified to go to the real auditions. That's jacked up. Other TV shows have stricter qualifications, which is nice I guess.

This is what I've seen: people going onto these shows, becoming insanely popular, and then win or come close to winning, later on die down in popularity. Some are lucky, but most I've seen...you don't even hear from them anymore. And it sucks because I have grown to like some people who later on fell off the face of the planet.

The TV show thing is kind of like the YouTube thing.

I'm not judging or anything. I believe there are some really good talents on the TV shows/YouTube. I kind of miss people becoming famous without the help of the TV shows and online websites.

Honestly tho. I just feel like if the person is good enough, they'll get noticed on their own, ya know? All these stars winning these competitions have talent, no doubt, but they then fall off the face of the planet cuz they have no "star appeal".

There's only a small few people from reality singing shows that actually gain major status. I can actually only think of Kelly Clarkson... Although Carrie Underwood is pretty popular in country music and Guy Sebastian is major in Australia. The rest of them don't really amount to anything....

Adam Lambert did okay at first, but now I barely hear about him.

Chris Daugherty and his band are off the face of the planet.

So is Jordan Sparks.

Phillip Phillips will be gone after a while.

Scotty McCreery or whatever is somewhere in the country world.

Kathrine McPhee is on "Smash" on NBC.

Idk who else won on American Idol. Kelly and Carrie are like the only two who are very successful from that show.

As for The Voice, the first season winner (Javier Colone) and second season winner (Jermaine Paul) are like goners. That show doesn't do well with the people who win.

Anyway, Emblem3 would've been signed eventually if they didn't go on the show. I lub them.

I would think Emblem3 would get signed, even without X Factor. Think about Train. They performed around California, and then eventually got signed. Sort of the same scenario.
