Pop Music in 2011 † 2012

Urm, well TBH pop music 2011 was SHIT. Except for a few people. Especially most of the "popular" songs that took over the charts were fucking annoying and needed to die. Hopefully it gets better in 2012. Anyway, I'm starting to listen to more "unheard" I suppose singers thats not really too popular. Anyway, yeah. Thoughts?

agreed and same. 98% was bullshit. The only good popular albums were 4 & Torches & Born This Way & 21 but we all know she's buying those albums lol

I agree. 2011 had pretty shitty music! Yeah I went off to go discover not-so-popular artists because I was sick of most of the bullshit I was listening to. I hope 2012 has better pop music.

Carly is a one hit wonder. She'll prob have another single that'll do descent and then she'll disappear. That's how it usually goes. No surprise.

I discovered I think a new band called "Walk The Moon". They're pretty good. :) I'm also looking at alternative artists and found a couple I liked. :)

But yeah, no one in the pop mainstream industry is good. Marina needs to get popular. She's pretty good. :)

I have come to the conclusion that popular music is doomed forever. Gaga didn't save us, Madonna didn't save us, Marina didn't save us. We are DOOMED!

People need to just appreciate better music.

TBH 2010 was the worst year in pop music ever.


In 2011 we had

Born This Way & The Edge Of Glory (both pop songs with an 80's sound. Plus one features saxophone from Clarence Clemons.)

Rolling In The Deep (who the Hell would have imagined)

You And I (a country rock song)

Someone Like You (a fucking piano ballad)

Pumped Up Kicks (Sounds like something you don't usually hear on the radio anymore)

In 2012 now we have songs like We Are Young by Fun and Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye which I never in a million years thought would be number 1 in the US.
