"Some fucking happy birthday." Scott mumbled.
On set he was cornered by Grace and Daniel.
"Have you talked to Alex today?" Grace asked.
"N..No. Why?" Scott was confused.
There was a pause and exchange of glances between Grace and Daniel.
"What? What's that look?" Scott asked, getting worried.
"He doesn't know." Daniel whispered.
"He is right here." Scott glared at them. "Look, if something's wrong with Alex I have every right in the world to know."
"Show him." Grace sighed.
Daniel pulled his phone out of his pocket, and scrolled through something. "Read this." he said.
Scott's eyes flicked down the screen. Grace saw the clouds building in his eyes.
"Scott?" she asked.
"Tell Peter I'm going home. Tell him I'm sick to my stomach." he shoved the phone at Daniel and walked off the set.
"Babe?" Alex asked coming in the door. "You home?"
He heard a noise in the kitchen, and walked in.
"Scott?"
Scott was sitting at the counter with a bottle of whiskey in front of him and a shot glass.
"Don't." Scott began.
"Don't what?"
"Don't explain yourself to me ok?"
"What are you talking about? And why are you drinking this early in the day?" Alex shook his head in confusion.
"Are you... Are you serious, right now?" Scott glared at him.
"Yeah, I'm serious. I have no clue what you're so upset abo... oh no." a little light bulb went off above Alex's head.
"Oh no, he says." Scott sighed.
"Scott, let me explain." Alex started toward Scott.
"No. Did you not just hear me say 'Don't explain yourself to me'?" Scott downed what was left in his shot glass.
"But it's not what you think!"
"Alex. How the hell do you think you're gunna work your way out of this?" Scott shook his head. "I thought we had something genuine."
"We do!" Alex said.
"No. We did."
"Wait what... no Scott come one let me explain this."
"What's there to explain?!" Scott screamed.
"Everything!" Alex screamed back. "I did this for you, for us!"
"What the actual fuck are you smoking?"
Alex sighed, "Nothing. You just kept saying how we should adopt and how you wanted a kid with me."
"So you got your cover up girlfriend pregnant?!"
"She agreed to hand us over her maternal rights after the baby is born."
"Alex." Scott began. "This is an actual breathing, living, feeling thing we are talking about here. You just brought this little life into this mess only to be confused. How are you going to explain to him/her that "Daddy" doesn't love "Mommy" the way he loves Uncle Scott? And why you and Malia don't live together."
"So you want me to fix this?"
"Yes you idiot! Go email E! News or whoever you told and tell them the whole truth."
"Scott. Are you sure?"
"Yes I am sure!"
"But this was your idea."
"I don't care anymore." Scott rubbed his head.
"Well I care if when your sober again you care." Alex guided Scott toward the stairs. "Go sleep off your alcohol then if you really want me to fix this, I will."
The sun was just starting to set when Scott woke up the first time.
"Good Morning, Princess." Alex smiled.
Scott glared at him, and pulled the cover over his head. "Fix your mess O'Loughlin"
"Alright babe. I will" Alex said as he smoothed out the blonde tuffs of hair sticking out from under the covers.
The second time Scott woke up it was dark out. Alex was standing over him holding out Tylenol, and Gatorade.
"Thanks." Scott said, sitting up and taking the things out of his hand.
Alex walked around to the other side of the bed, and climbed in. "I fixed it."
"Oh?" Scott said, taking a sip of the Gatorade.
"Yep. Emailed E! News, and CBS and told them. That set off a whole new round of congratulation and 'I knew it's'" Alex laughed.
Scott smiled. "Good."
They were silent for a moment when Scott spoke up. "Oh my god."
"What?" Alex got a little panicky.
"We are going to be dads!" Scott smiled.
Alex laughed. "So does this mean I'm forgiven?"
"Pull another stunt like that, no." Scott looked at him.
"I won't. I promise." Alex pulled Scott into a hug, and placed a kiss on his head. "Happy Birthday Scotty."
"Happy Birthday to you too, goof." Scott looked up at him.
"Not yet."
"It's tomorrow in Australia."
Alex laughed, "That it is Scotty, that it is."
