Our rights to live and love.

My lack of sleep has created some sort of rift in my brain causing it to vomit endlessly. So, along with the story, if you haven't read it, go read it. This is the thought process that I went through to actually get the words together to form that beautiful short story.

I was thinking. Thinking to a point where my brain hurt. I couldn't wrap my head around why people thought that the perfect love story HAD to be a man and a woman. I remember my dad actually saw my older love stories, and gay stories. Without my permission of course. He labelled the gay one "Disgusting porn." I did react, not for the fact that he trashed my gay stories, but the fact that he was sullying my art, making it out to be something dirty that isn't. And that is honestly what I see with society today. People see 2 girls, or 2 guys walking hand in hand together, and suddenly its something completely disgusting and habit forming.

I love Gay sex. And I can tell you from experience, it is a completely sensual moment in time. Nothing disgusting about it.

People have their own opinions. And I will accept that. But when you go so far as to say we're not allowed to do certain things because we're gay? Seriously, we're not trampling on your rights by living. Why must you trample ours?

Bullying in schools because of orientation is ridiculous and getting worse. Grade 7, first week of school, I told my friend that I liked girls, and from then to grade 10, I was tormented consistently.

Just because I liked girls.

People are afraid of things that they don't understand. Kids especially. They need to be educated on the fact that it doesn't matter if you're gay, straight, bi, transgender, black, white, hispanic, asian, or alien, everyone has a right to live however they choose to live. No judgement. Just the freedom to be able to walk down the street and know our rights are being recognized.

We deserve change. Love is Love. No matter what shape it comes in. Love is Love.

I agree with you, Kat. I honestly don't see how people think gay couples are disgusting. And yet, they find bad straight relationships (like if it was for benefits, cheating, etc) "okay".
Clearly society has a fucked up brain. We've established that since man-kind. Gay couples don't do a damn thing to hurt them. We aren't ruining their rights at all. That's what ticks me off the most. And it also makes me mad that LGBT kids are getting picked on constantly JUST for liking whoever the hell they like. I mean seriously, it's unfair.
I do think more people should get educated that the LGBT community aren't bad people; they are just like everybody else!

I really hope this whole thing gets better soon (not Gaga soon, but ya know what I mean). :/ It's so crucial.

Society today doesn't let our voices be heard; they mute it out and pretend that it's nothing important. Well I know some of us our quiet, but even the loud ones aren't heard.
Our voices may be key, but doing something along with our voices can make people notice. Like for an example: No one was paying attention to Gaga when she was performing, so she stripped naked so that people would notice her and she then continued to play. :)

And Lukas, in Canada where I live, we have 2 central gay hubs. Kelowna BC, and Toronto. Toronto has one of the biggest gay communities in Canada. Gay marriage is legal in my province, and a few others but not completely.

Last year, DADT was repealed in the states. which means gay soldiers that were discharged are able to serve their country without judgement, or fear that they will be harshly treated because of their orientation.

DADT was the most ridiculous law I had ever seen. The title completely contridicted the actions of their superiors. Instead of doing a basic background check, superiors would dig into soldiers lockers, read their letters to family, go through personal effects, then figure out what to do from there. And in almost all cases, the soldier would be discharged. What I didn't understand is why orientation would matter. If youre gay, and an American soldier, the only thing that should matter is the fact that you're serving your country.

And remember, if you were to be killed in action, no one would know that you were gay. Blood is blood. It has no orientation.

My dad actually got mad when he was watching CNN and found out gay marriage was declared legal in Ny. I actually looked at him like "Are you a moron?" And told him that "It has nothing to do with us, so why are you being such an ignorant ass? That's in the states, let them do their thing." Then he went on a rant on how it's "not pleasing to god," and blah blah blah. I ended up just walking away saying "Go live in your little bubble of ignorance. I'm done with this conversation."

My mom's kinda iffy on me being gay, well, just on the sex part. Other wise, she thinks its fine. My dad don't know anything cuz he's a dope and doesn't pay attention to anything. Lol!
